Discover the Heart of the SF2: Watch Our New Video to See Every Part

POSTED ON October 29th, 2024 Jay Nakum

At Futurepump, we’re passionate about designing solar water pumps that empower farmers and growers globally. We’re also a market leader in warranty and openness on product design. Our latest initiative is to give customers, and distributors, a detailed view of every part included in our pumps – so you know exactly what you’re buying and how to maintain it.

Among our pump range, the Futurepump SF2 stands out as our high-capacity solar water pump and is ideal for a range of irrigation needs. It’s this pump you’ll be meeting in detail today!

Meet the SF2 Solar Water Pump

The SF2 is our largest capacity model, designed to efficiently irrigate up to 2 acres and lift water from depths of up to 7 meters, with a total head of 15 meters. This pump is a game-changer for farmers needing a robust and flexible solution.

Key Features of the SF2:

  • Delivers up to 1 L/s (3,600 L/hr with a 120W panel)
  • Ideal for irrigating up to 2 acres
  • Draws water from depths of up to 7 meters
  • Maximum total head of 15 meters
  • Compatible with tanks and most irrigation systems, including up to 8 sprinklers
  • Works with variable solar input – choose between 120W and 240W panels, or connect third-party panels

Inside the SF2 Solar Pump

Our SF2 pump is engineered from several parts which work together seamlessly to provide reliable, year-round irrigation. Here are some of its essential components:

  • Cage: Protects the pump during transport and makes it easy to handle
  • Flywheel: Provides the momentum to move the piston up-and-down
  • Post: Secures the cage, flywheel, and motor
  • Motor: Drives the pump with power generated from solar panels
  • Pulley: Offers two-step functionality—a smaller pulley for low sunlight, higher head; a larger pulley for lower head needs
  • Air Vessel: Smooths out the flow of water, creating a steady and reliable output

These components form the backbone of the SF2’s dependable performance. To help you identify each part and understand its function, we recently created an in-depth video with an exploded view of the SF2. Check it out here and see the simplicity which means we can proudly back our pumps with a 10-year warranty.
