Why are you crowdfunding?

We have come a long way thanks to having raised $3.6m of non-dilutive capital and the company is currently 100% owned by the operational team – we have no third-party shareholders.

So, why are we now crowdfunding? We have ambitions to significantly decrease the cost of manufacture and distribution of our solar water pumps and require an increase in financial resources to implement the strategy. We think that equity crowdfunding is extremely exciting as it will bring us the capital to scale with the added bonus of a crowd of advocates to help us take our business to the next level. We will be able to share our successes with our community and amplify our message – we believe in running a successful company, whilst making a positive social and environmental impact.

Who can invest?

The great thing about crowdfunding is that anyone can invest! As long as you are over 18 and legally entitled to invest. We have asked our community and networks before anyone else, as we wanted you to be the first to know.

Unfortunately we cannot advertise investment opportunities to those living in the United States, Canada or Japan, or any other country where it would be unlawful for our pitches to be advertised. Please don't register with us if you are a resident of one of those countries.

Where can I find out more about Crowdcube?

More information about how crowdfunding works and the Crowdcube platform on the Crowdcube website:

How do I make a return on my investment?

Futurepump will use the money you invest to grow the business and generate more profits. This will increase the value of your investment.

You then receive the benefit of that increase either through selling your shares or being paid dividends.

At the moment, we believe the best way to increase the value of your shares is to reinvest profits into growing and improving the business. If this is no longer true, we may return some of the profits earned to our shareholders, as dividends.

In future, the company may be bought, for example, by a larger company, by venture capitalists or by management, or it may be listed on a stock exchange. If your shares are bought for more than you paid then you will make a positive return on your investment at that point.

There are no guaranteed returns on your investment and your capital is at risk. Please do make sure you are aware of all the risks of investing in equity products.

Has COVID-19 impacted Futurepump?

With our offices, factory and distribution partners located in different territories across the world, the impacts of COVID-19 have been felt at different times and to different extents. Our office-based teams swiftly transitioned to remote working, something which, as a global team with regular online calls and strategy meetings, we are used to. Our UK team also made use of the Government furlough scheme. The factory in Rajkot, India, did down tools for a period in March when India was placed into a national lockdown. We used the opportunity when restrictions were eased to move our machines and tools to our new purpose-built factory ahead of schedule and are now up and running and working in a COVID safe way. Our new facility is on a two-acre site with much larger buildings allowing for easier social distancing practices. As our distribution countries experienced local lockdowns at different times this did impact on orders to our factory, however, we are now seeing a surge in demand with several orders being placed in the last month.

What benefits do I get as a shareholder?
As a shareholder in Futurepump, you will own a small piece of our company. It means that you will be holding a share that will generate measurable social and environmental impact – each of our solar pumps change smallholder farmers lives, through boosting incomes, staving off food insecurity and allowing farmers to be in control of their businesses. There is also the possibility that you would share in the financial successes of a sale, an IPO or dividend return, although these are not guaranteed outcomes.
Does pre-registering commit me to investing?

No. Signing up here does not commit you to anything. However, you will have exclusive access to invest in Futurepump when we open privately. We have an investment cap and once it is reached nobody else can invest. If you pre-register you will be among those who have the first opportunity to invest.

How much can I invest?

You can invest anything from as little as £10

When will the campaign go live?

We are going to go live, privately at first, in November. Exclusive access to the private round will be given to those who have pre-registered. After this short private investment period, we will open it up to public investment.

How do I become a shareholder?

To become a shareholder, you will need to sign-up for a free account on Crowdcube. Our campaign isn’t live yet, so you won’t see it on the site. However, if you pre-register your interest here, then we will let you know as soon as our page goes live. This means you will have exclusive access to invest before we share with the rest of the world.
