Futurepump is a British-Indian company, headquartered in the UK and manufacturing solar powered irrigation pumps from our custom-built factory and office complex in India. Our pumps are supported by a 10 year warranty and designed for smallholder farmers to use on farms across the world. We sell both direct to consumers and through a network of distribution partners.
As Group Accountant you will provide essential reporting, financial control and manage day-to-day finance operations for our UK operations. Working closely with the Managing Director, Sales Team and counterpart in India you will be immersed in all aspects of the business from a financial perspective.
Examples of tasks within this role:
Accounting:
- Preparing and distributing monthly sales reports and group management accounts
- Daily cashflow management and forecasting for our UK business
- All bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and end of month processing
- Accounting in multiple currencies
- Quarterly VAT return
- Payroll management
- Supplier payments
- Sales invoicing control
- Grant funds monitoring and reconciliation
- Annual budget preparation
- Occasional credit control
- Ad hoc financial support for the wider business
Non-accounting:
- Sales order approval
- Assist in the preparation of R&D tax reclaims
- Applying for Quarterly Tax Residence Certificates
Essential Requirements
- Chartered accountant
- Experience with management accounting and budget preparation
- Strong excel skills
- Experience with Xero accounting software
- Must be proactive in a standalone role (no finance team support)
Ideal but not essential
- Experience in a small company
Location of role:
UK (within commuting distance of Bungay, Suffolk)
Although this is a remote position, monthly in-person meetings with the Managing Director are a requirement.
