I had the pleasure of joining two of our distributors on the New Ventures podcast, hosted by Sanjoy Sanyal. We talked about partnerships, the challenges and opportunities they can bring, and told stories about Futurepump solar pumps in the field.
Podcast 1: In discussion with Stephen Wambua from Davis & Shirtliff Kenya
Podcast 2: In discussion with Isaiah Nyakusendwa from Celfre Energy Zimbabwe
What I enjoyed the most about these discussions is how they demonstrate the rapport we have between manufacturer and distributor. This is a relatively uncommon relationship but one we have worked hard to build as it has a whole host of benefits for our farmer customers.
Access to solar pumps
It would have been a whole different challenge to reach the 100,000 people benefiting from Futurepump solar water pumps without our distribution network. Having people on the ground, with established branches means:
- Customers can contact a local person and ask questions
- Local pricing is available
- There can be product demonstrations, support with delivery and installation
We currently have more than 30 distributors, with hundreds of branches making it easier for customers to find a pump local to them. You can find your nearest distributor on our map at shop.futurepump.com
Technical support
We train all our distributors to be able to answer maintenance and support questions, they also hold stock of spare parts. This means that if you have purchased a Futurepump solar pump, you can go back to your distributor if you have any technical problems. If it’s not possible for them to help, then they can reach out to our factory directly.
This support is available for 10 years after you purchase a pump, with our 10-year warranty promise, and our carefully selected distributors stand behind this warranty too. You can hear Stephen from Davis & Shirtliff give his views about the robustness of Futurepump and the excellent warranty at minute 10:40 of the podcast.
“The most striking and the key thing I really enjoyed about working with the Futurepump products is the support that they extend on their products and the warranty. And these are very robust pumps we rarely get cases of breakdowns and even if we do get breakdowns, we are able to service easily” – Stephen Wambua
