As 2025 comes to an end, it has been a year of both progress and challenge for Futurepump and the farmers we work with. Climate change is no longer a distant issue – farmers are feeling its impact every day through unpredictable rainfall, rising temperatures, and longer dry seasons.
These realities were reflected in global discussions at COP30, where leaders talked about how communities can adapt to climate change. For the farmers using Futurepump pumps, adaptation means being able to irrigate their crops when water is needed. Solar-powered irrigation has helped farmers take control of their farms, reduce fuel costs, and keep growing even in difficult conditions.
This year also brought funding challenges. Cuts in foreign aid, including from the United States and other long-standing donors, made access to support for many of our distributors more uncertain. This highlighted the importance of practical, affordable solutions that farmers can rely on without depending on short-term funding.
Despite these challenges, we’re proud that more farmers across Africa and Asia chose Futurepump to power their farms with the sun, strengthen their livelihoods, and build a more secure future for their families.

This year marked an exciting leap forward as we expanded into new regions, reaching thousands more small-scale farmers with news of reliable solar-powered irrigation. We’ve welcomed an inspiring group of new distributors who share our mission and energy.
