2022 – yet another a year of record breaking temperatures, catastrophic floods and droughts affecting millions of people globally. All whilst governments seemingly backtrack on climate commitments and miss key climate financing targets.
At least COP27 did result in an agreement to set up a long sort after fund for climate impact loss and damage – that’s progress!
It’s been a tough few years, we’ve emerged from a global pandemic into increased climate emergencies and wars that are shifting the ground under our feet. It is clearer now more than ever before that we need to work together to force system change.
At Futurepump, we are aware that we are just a very tiny part of the solution, but we are proud to be in a growing network of businesses driven by sustainability and placing more at the heart of our company than financials.
Here’s what we have been up to this year…
New distributors
This year we have worked to expand into new territories to bring solar powered irrigation to thousands more small-scale farmers. We’ve welcomed new distributors in:
Nigeria
1,600 Futurepump solar pumps are being delivered to rural smallholders nationally through the FADAMA programme.
Cambodia
Pteah Baitong has joined our network to distribute pumps nationally in Cambodia.
The Philippines
Filipino agricultural technology company iFarms Inc. has come on board to bring innovation to The Philippines through distributing solar irrigation pumps.
The UK
ReAg Tools has added Futurepump solar pumps to their range of marketing gardening and regenerative agriculture tools.
New online guides – helping you to increase your knowledge of solar irrigation
We’ve added two online guides to our website to help you find out more about solar irrigation and how to incorporate it most efficiently for small scale farming.

Each of these guides is available as a download and includes additional information, calculations and checklists to help with farm and irrigation planning.

You can now access all our product manuals and some downloadable technical support guides through our website – so whether you’ve misplaced your manual or you simply want to find out more about our products you can do that quickly and easily.
Our factory grows
This year we have welcomed several new members to our factory team and the site continues to grow.
We want to show you more behind the scenes content from our factory, this is where we design, test and manufacture all our pumps.
