2024 has been a year of change globally, with politics and elections standing out as significant events. Did you know that citizens in over 60 nations had the opportunity to cast a vote this year? That’s over half of the global population! While we don’t know what the outcomes of these elections will ultimately mean for the world, a topic which has received attention and divided voters, is that of the climate.
With the last year once again set to break records for the warmest year on record and extreme weather events becoming increasingly prevalent it’s clear to see why. Linked to this, 2024 saw the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) held in Baku, Azerbaijan. While the location of the conference in a country made rich by oil is questionable, there did seem to be some positive talks regarding energy access and climate financing.
We’re hopeful to see the results of these conversations and financing make an appearance in 2025 to increase energy access, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support food security across nations. At Futurepump, we believe we have a vital role in supporting the meeting of these sustainable development goals – by focusing on robust and reliable solar irrigation pumps.
How have we pushed towards these goals in 2024? Check out our highlights:
- Factory upgrades – We invested in UV printing, allowing us to handle our flywheel printing in-house. Check out this video to see how we make it happen!
- Video is where it’s at – This year, we’ve significantly influenced the YouTube platform, amassing over 7,000 active subscribers! If you’re not already subscribed – please support us by doing so, and if there are videos you think we should make – let us know
- New distributors – This year we were excited to partner with a new distributor in Zambia, Saro Agro Industrial Ltd, as well as Gro Green in Liberia.
- Continuing partnerships – Our Managing Director, Helen, caught up with our distributors, Davis & Shirtliff and Celfre Energy on the New Ventures podcast hosted by Sanjoy Sanyal. The conversation revolved around their partnerships, the challenges they face, and the positive impact of their work. Behind the Scenes: A Candid Conversation with Our Distribution Partners
- More products added to our online store – As a result of customer feedback we have made new products available to buy direct from us. For better low-light operation, the SE1 now has the option to add either 120W or 180W. We’ve also developed a Futurepump compatible float switch – this simple but clever device will turn on/off automatically based on your tank’s water level. Check out the float switch now

Our factory is also prioritising ongoing enhancement and growth. We will continue to invest in bringing processes in-house, ensuring ongoing quality, speed of production and reliability.
Installation of a new solar rooftop at our factory is underway, and we couldn’t be more excited about the continuous energy it will provide – the 100kW system has been designed to cover all our energy requirements during daylight hours. Stay tuned for videos and images as we complete the installation!
Our goal for 2025 remains to expand our network of distributors in new and existing countries. We are looking for more high-energy partners who join our network and have different options available for different business sizes. This will allow us to provide more farmers with access to our pumps and enhance their productivity. Fill out the form at futurepump.com/distribute if you are interested in joining our network.
